"Thank you so much for leading Dad’s service on Friday. We are very grateful for your support, suggestions and special care and attention. We were rather apprehensive about how we would feel about the burial but it all felt right. Mum was very happy with the proceedings and how intimate it felt. Emma, Laura and Mark thought it was a beautiful service.
It is an obvious thing to say, but having the service outside seemed to make all the difference compared to being inside. We all thought it was a beautiful coffin with its wooden handles, and the florist did a lovely arrangement. Having white roses to throw into the grave was a special touch. We were very pleased that the grave was directly off the path and very accessible for the future. It is a lovely setting and the weather couldn’t have been better. Paul and I went back on Saturday, watered the grass and revived the flowers. A burial was what Dad wanted and he has been laid to rest in a beautiful place with the people who mattered most to him there. And he is near Simon forever.
