Northcott Brothers History
Northcott Brothers was established in 1893. In 2013, Peter and Edward Northcott decided to join forces with fourth generation family funeral directors A.J.Wakely & Sons. The two businesses have a combined history of almost 250 years. The united companies offer a dignified and caring service to Sidmouth and the surrounding communities.
Northcott Brothers is managed by Simon Wakely.

In 1995 Simon joined his father, David Wakely, and grandfather, Jack Wakely at the funeral directors in Bridport, where he learned the profession.
Now with almost 30 years experience, Simon continues to follow family traditions and enjoys serving the local communities.
Northcott Brothers adhere and uphold the National Association of Funeral Directors code of Practice, ensuring that all members of its staff are trained to recognise the code and their responsibilities to adhere to it. The office is inspected by the NAFD regularly, with the most recent NAFD inspection less than a year ago. The certificate confirming that Northcott Brothers passed the inspection is proudly displayed in the office.
