Richard has a Diploma in Funeral Arranging and Administration (DipFAA). Richard joined the family business in 2014 after years of charity work in the Philippines. Richard is proudly following in the footsteps of his father Clive Wakely, Director of A.J.Wakely & Sons.
Following several years of training, Richard is a caring and experienced funeral director.

Our Wincanton office is managed by Claire who is available on a daily basis to offer support and guidance following a bereavement.
The office offers a friendly, relaxed and comfortable setting to organise arrangements.
A.J.Wakely & Sons adhere and uphold the National Association of Funeral Directors code of Practice, ensuring that all members of its staff are trained to recognise the code and their responsibilities to adhere to it. The office is inspected by the NAFD regularly, with the most recent NAFD inspection less than a year ago. The certificate confirming that A.J.Wakely & Sons passed the inspection is proudly displayed in the office.

Firstly I would like to start by thanking you all for everything over the last 4 weeks and for looking after our father in his final place of rest. There's too much to list but your support and care throughout this ordeal has been phenomenal, with no ask being too big.
The funeral on Friday was heart breaking, however, it was above and beyond anything we could have imagined - all thanks to you. You took care of every detail and he would have been so so proud. I also need to say a massive thank you to Claire. Her support to me personally is something she didn't do because it's her job, she's a wonderful caring woman and she will never know what a big support to me she has been. She held my hand and sat with me when I cried but never rushed me or made me feel a nuisance. So a big thank you to her, she's amazing.
For obvious reasons his funeral is a day we will never forget, but we will also remember it for all the special touches that you provided. It was the perfect goodbye to our father and was everything he deserved.
